Residential Area No. 5, Tu Lien Ward, Tay Ho District
Introduce
Currently, Noi Chau Communal House is in Residential Area No. 5, Tu Lien Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi. According to legend, the communal house worshiping tutelary god is the three biological brothers: Bao Trung (the eldest god, taboo name - Nguyen Huy Bao), Minh Khiet (the younger god, taboo name - Nguyen Huy My), and Lady God Y Hanh (taboo name - Nguyen Thi Phuong) who were both born on the interval between 11:00 pm and 1:00 am, June 28, the Tiger year (1998).
To commemorate the merits and blessings of the three tutelary gods, the annual festivals are held on lunar March 16 and lunar October 12 by the three villages of Noi Chau, Ngoc Xuyen, and Ngoai Chau (also known as Tu Lien). Following the custom, every three years, each village would go to the Red River to fetch water. This practice is still maintained to this day.
