Introduce
The communal house worships God Uy Linh Lang, son of the national ancestor Lac Long Quan, who often appeared in different river regions to rescue Vietnamese people from natural disasters and maintain peace and prosperity for the country.
On the 10th day of the lunar February, the local authorities and people hold a festival to commemorate the great deeds of God Uy Linh Lang. The festival includes various traditional games and cultural performances such as “hat cheo”, “dien tuong”, ethnic musical instrument performances, human chess, cockfighting, and “danh to tom diem”. There are also traditional ceremonies such as the “ruoc kieu, ruoc nuoc, te le” and folk cultural activities. Notably, the Nhat Tan Communal House Festival still maintains the tradition of awarding the Linh Lang Prize to excellent teachers, students, and economically successful families in the locality to encourage the movement of teaching and studying excellence. The festival embodies the traditional culture and national identity, demonstrating the local people’s reverence and admiration for God Uy Linh Lang, who contributed to the nation and people, repelling foreign invaders and protecting the country.
