Introduce
When mentioning Au Co - a historical figure and legendary character- everyone thinks she is our nation's ancestor. The word "Au" originates from a legend of the Muong - a brother closely associated with the Vietnamese since ancient times, called the birth of water and land. Here has a “Chim Ang, Cai Ua" story close to the word Au in "Au Co".
The word "Co" in Au Co, according to legend, is a beautiful woman. In the sense of Chinese characters, the word "Co" is also a beautiful woman with the image of a bird, symbolizing the mountain and high sky, meaning a haft of the country; the other half is the sea, the lower part. When Au Co and Lac Long Quan married, they became an ancestral couple of the lineage.
Au Co Street is a part of the Red River dike, between Nghi Tam and An Duong Vuong streets (Tay Ho district). It is one of the routes connecting the inner city of Hanoi with Noi Bai airport. The two sides of the road are the foot of the dyke with a green lawn. The original road is the Red River dike, passing through the villages of Nhat Tan, Quang Ba, and Tu Lien in Tu Liem district before, now in Nhat Tan, Quang An, and Tu Lien wards in Tay Ho district. Across the street is the famous Quang An flower market selling fresh flowers, bustling from 11 pm to 3 am - 4 am; this is also one of the typical features of people's lives along the West Lake.
