Tay Ho District, Hanoi
Introduce
Thanh Nien Street is between West Lake and Truc Bach Lake, which has long been dubbed the "Road of Love", "The most beautiful street in Hanoi" with beautiful roads, wide sidewalks and green trees around the year.
Thanh Nien Street was originally a dam built in the early 17th century to raise fish in Truc Bach Lake. At first, the name was "Cố Ngữ" (hold firmly), later it was read as "Cổ Ngư". The road's length is nearly 1 km, starting from Yen Phu slope to Quan Thanh - Thuy Khue junction.
In 1957 - 1959, after the capital's youth contributed to making Co Ngu Street and many other larger and more beautiful works, President Ho Chi Minh suggested changing the name to Thanh Nien Street to recognize and encourage contribution and efforts of the young generation.
Thanh Nien Street is planted with many phoenixes and ban flowers. In the summer, on sunny days, the red phoenix flowers shine on the whole road, creating a strong impression on passersby, especially those who have just passed their youth.
In spring, the road has many ban flowers. Flowers from the mountains and forests are grown here quite a lot, red flowers, purple flowers… The slender flowers bloom peacefully in the middle of a crowded city, giving a gentle feeling of being close to nature.
