Introduce
Phu Xa Pagoda is currently located at Group 41, Residential Area No. 6, Phu Thuong Ward, Tay Ho District. The pagoda's official name is Phuc Hoa Tu (Phuc Hoa Pagoda). Its establishment dates back to the early 18th century, coinciding with the settlement and formation of Phu Xa Village. The religious and spiritual system was developed early to meet the needs of the local community while preserving the traditional cultural values of the nation. During the resistance war against French colonial rule, Phu Xa Pagoda served as a secret operational site for the Central Government and the city. It was used to store food and supplies for the revolutionary forces. The pagoda, along with its valuable artifacts, contributes to the study of local history in particular and the history of the capital city in general.
Phu Xa Pagoda is situated on a beautiful piece of land, facing southwest towards the village road. The pagoda boasts a grand and large-scale architectural structure, surrounded by multiple interconnected buildings. The presence of ancient trees and various fruit-bearing trees such as mango, jackfruit, pomelo, and persimmon, along with an assortment of ornamental plants and bonsai, enhances the solemn and tranquil atmosphere of this historic site. The overall architecture of Phu Xa Pagoda includes the following components: the Three-Entrance Gate, the Pagoda Courtyard, and the Main Pagoda, which consists of the Ancestral House, the Mother Goddess House, the Guest House, and the Kitchen. These architectural elements are arranged in a sequential manner, creating a harmonious and enclosed complex.
