Tu Lien Pagoda, located in Tu Lien Ward, is also known by its formal name, "Tam Bảo Tự" (Tam Bao Pagoda), and is commonly referred to as Ba Lang Pagoda. It is situated adjacent to Van Ngoc Pagoda. According to the "Hậu Phật Bi Ký" stele, which dates back to the 4th year of the Chinh Hoa era (1683) and is currently preserved at the pagoda, Tu Lien Pagoda has existed for a long time. The surrounding landscape is quite picturesque: to the east, a meandering river flows abundantly; to the west, a towering dike stretches into the distance. Meanwhile, the northern land is said to be spiritually rich, with a mystical connection to divine forces, where prayers are believed to be answered. Today, Tu Lien Pagoda stands as an ancient temple in a stunning location, harmoniously blending natural beauty with historical significance. Recognized as a cultural and scenic heritage site, the pagoda is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes on all sides, exuding grandeur and serving as a spiritual landmark in the region.
Tu Lien Pagoda is situated in the northwest of the city, about 6 kilometers from the center of Hanoi. Visitors can reach the pagoda by various means of transportation and routes, but the most convenient way is to start from Hoan Kiem Lake, follow Tran Quang Khai Street, then take Yen Phu Dike Road past Kim Lien Pagoda, and continue for approximately 800 meters to reach Tu Lien Pagoda.
Situated on a high, spacious, and level piece of land in Tu Lien Village, the pagoda boasts a grand architectural scale. With multiple interconnected buildings nestled among ancient trees, it exudes an atmosphere of serenity and solemnity. The layout of the pagoda includes the Three-door gate, a courtyard, a garden, the main hall, the ancestral house, the Mother Goddess house, and a guest house.
