Two Ly Princesses, the older sister is Phuc and the other is Loc from Long Hung, Thai Binh have the ancestor is Ly Hanh. Phuc, Loc are the daughters of Ly Bi. When they were born, the two women had extraordinary facial features and were incredibly beautiful. When growing up their two love river and wind, often use boats to go sightseeing in the rivers and seas.
The King and the Queen ordered the two not to go out. But they were very sad and then said "We vow to ride the wind and the waves, to kill the fish on the sea, to save the people from water and fire. The body of iron and the hot blood in their veins, why should we be a normal house wife? Isn’t it such a waste? "
The king and queen must accept their taste and let them go out. One day they sailed on the To River, stopped rowing at the foot of a rocky mountain, and suddenly heard about the nine-tailed fox harming the people here. The two princesses secretly sailed to learn magic to save people from the monster. In Nhu Nguyet River, two girls meet a girl with great magic. Two princesses invited her into the palace. In front of the king and his courtiers, she called the wind, making rain, making thunder rumbling. The king saw that and named her the Van Tho Princess. Then Princess Van Tho and her two Van Phuc, Van Loc sisters want to help the king eliminate the demon.
She asked the king to set up an altar and said: "I am born from the sacred spirit. Heavens are so busy that they do not pay any attention to evil spirits. Now we see the King planned to do great things, God sent me to help, giving long-lasting happiness and clarify the virtue of the king. "
The king set up eight altars and invited Van Tho to destroy the monster. Van Tho invites God and recites mantras. The winds and the thunder raged violently, the forest trees were pulled up, the mountains were clean and there was no longer any sign of the monster. In the middle of the sky, there was a bright red cloud and no one could see Van Tho anymore. Since then, no one saw the fox any more. King praised her and set up the temple "Tran tinh Ba Vuong" and ordered the two Princesses to take care of worshiping in the temple.
Later, the two princesses help the King to fight the south invader, keeping the frontier peaceful, the country prosperous. Then one day after hearing that the King died, they cried a lot and later also passed away in the temple. Local people then worship along with Van Tho.
In 1288, the trinity was conferred as the goddesses. Later feudal dynasties also conferred them as goddesses.
